Writer's Block
I think I have writer’s block. I have never been a great writer, no comments please. But, I always think of things during the day to ‘blog’ about. “Oh, that would make a great blog” or I get the urge to blog at work – but it is not quite the right place…
Any who, here are SOME of the things I’ve been thinking about blogging about over the past few weeks…
Any who, here are SOME of the things I’ve been thinking about blogging about over the past few weeks…
- How I am dating the most WONDERFUL man but if I write about it, I will jinx it. So you never saw this. Did I tell you he brought me my favorite chocolates as a gift from his Cali trip – just "because" he was “thinking of me.” He had no clue what kind of brownie points he was earning. That is just one of the very sweet things he has done for me, But, like I said – I do NOT want to jinx this.
- My puppy had surgery last week and is still recovering. Don’t worry she will be fine. She is just peeing all over my parent’s house.
- That I secretly want another dog. A BIG dog at that – but I’m worried my father would disown me. I’m still working on how I’m going to pull this off – I don’t think they will visit again until December. ;-)
- I have been on a movie kick this week. I have watched 27 Dresses, P.S. I Love You, No Country for Old Men, Iron Man. And I have 3:10 to Yuma, No Reservations, and something else I can’t remember on Netflix.
- About my jury duty experience last week. I am all about justice but this was a waste of my time and 20 other peoples. Good thing they didn’t ask if anyone was bitter about being there during the jury selection.
- How excited I am that my friend Erin lives here (we went to high school together in ABQ) and I didn’t even know it until last week. She has 4 kids and married her high school sweetheart. That is so not the same path I took. I can’t wait to see her and her family.
- I started training again with a personal trainer on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Therefore, Tuesday nights and most Fridays are not the time to hang out with me – either I will be asleep or I am ready for bed at 9:30.
- My new favorite radio show is "Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!” on NPR, Saturday mornings at 10am! Wow, I can tell I am getting older.

Yikes -
I thought I was safe???
But, the May '08 magazines are starting to come in! I am overwhelmed!
Tonight I watched one of my three Netflix that I have been holding for a good month and multi-tasked with magazines! I got through one movie and THREE InStyle Magazines!
Why do I put this stress on myself? I could end my 3 movie at a time Netflix and all my 12 magazines a month by sending a certified letter to somewhere in Siberia for forgiveness. (Similar to the steps you must go thru to terminate a tanning membership - if you have ever had one).
I guess it is a seasonal thing? I love to watch movies and read magazines in the colder months and I want less drama during the spring/summer daylight savings time. This is the time to work in the yard, go to the lake, play in the park!
Anyway, those are my thoughts...

Magazine Whore...
If you have been over to my house - you know that I LOVE magazines.
I currently subscribe to: In Style, Oprah, Austin Monthly, Real Simple, Prevention, Glamour, Health, Lucky, Oxygen, Redbook and Bon Appetite! Right there, that is 11!! Almost a dozen!! And I may be forgetting a couple others - yikes~
I rationalize it because when I am at the grocery store check-out and I am surrounded by all the periodical temptations (People, Star, InTouch, etc. - the ones I DO NOT subscribe to - but will occasionally purchase) - I figure that by subscribing to them - I am saving money then by purchasing them one off. Who wants to pay $4.25 a magazine??? (The accountant in me).
I guess I am running behind! I have at least January, February, March and April editions of each of the above magazines left to read~ I am simply overwhelmed and don't know where to begin reading. Do I start with April and work backwards? Or do a I start with January - even though that is so last season!
Major Dilemma!

So when it rains it pours...
Am I wearing a wearing a huge sign around my neck? I have been single for awhile (but I am guessing that may be a blessing in disguise)???
What is it with men?
Do you radiant a scent when you are happy and excited about someone in you life? Do these masculine beings come down to Earth and try to ruin or conquer that feeling?? Where were they a month ago or six months ago?
When it rains it pours - I guess. I'll never understand men!
I'm not complaining by any means - I feel adored and all that greatness (when it is pouring -mind you).
I will keep you updated...
Brazil
As most of you know - I was scared to death to go to Brazil for my work trip! Was I going to come back with all my organs? Was I going to be kidnapped?
Turns out Brazil ROCKS! I enjoyed my time there so much that I'm looking forward to my trip!
The only thing I dread is the 10 hour flight from Dallas and back. That's a long flight for someone who can not sleep on plane flights. ;-(
So, did you know that in the Southern Hemisphere the water goes down the drain counter-clockwise versus clockwise (as it does in the US)?? Well, I attempted to document the moment.
And, I did! I started with the sink full of water and to watch it drain... no luck - it just all drained down in one big whoop.
So, my second attempt to document this amazing phenomenon was to record the toilet flushing. I videoed the flushing of the toilet and I either saw the water going the opposite direction or maybe I just tricked myself into thinking it actually happened. Yippee me - I'm so accomplished - I have documented water going down the drain counter-clockwise!!
Smarty (me) gets home and downloads all my pictures and video footage. I forward all my fabulous photos, minus the videos, to my coworkers. Then I get the wise idea to delete all the photos/videos from the past 12 months in my iphotos and on my camera after I thought I had filed them safely away in file folders.
I go back to upload this amazing video footage of my sink and toilet for you all to view. And, it is GONE! I deleted it!! I am so upset~ I now have no memories from Brazil except for the photos I sent to my co-workers and the small t-shirt I bought. Waaaa!!!
Good thing I get to go back this summer (their winter)!!
I can't even get the pictures I e-mailed away. Sorry - one day I will learn how to use this silly blogger~
Grrrr~

Dr. Oz on Oprah...
I record Oprah every day - sometimes I watch it and sometimes I just delete it.
But, today on Oprah my favorite guest was on- Dr. Oz.
Did you know people EAT in their SLEEP?
This one lady eats 1000-3000 calories in her sleep each night! She has NO clue what she has done until the morning when she sees the spoons and empty containers.
Ummm...I would stop buying food and eat out only.
If I start having night eating binges and sleep terrors - I am blaming Oprah and Dr. Oz~
Yawn - Good Night~

Curdled Milk...
Being the mother (I have no kids or pets) that I am...I feel like I always need to have milk in the frig!
I HATE milk!! It makes me ill! Pure torture would be to make me drink an ounce of milk straight!
Don't get me wrong - I have no problem drinking lattes or anything that 'disguises' the milk taste!
So, I'm leaving for a week - robbers please do not apply! Therefore, I do my motherly duty of running the dishwasher, washer/dryer, cleaning the frig, filling the car with gas, picking up the dry cleaning, getting money from the bank, etc.
So in my process of cleaning out my frig before I leave. I look at the date on the 1% organic milk in my frig - NOT GOOD. I proceed to pour out the milk in the sink and it starts out as a watery milk looking fountain - but then begins to throw out these cottage cheese chunks! I start to gag in the worst way.
I don't know what is better? Milk in the frig or curdled milk???
I'm so grossed out!!

Neighbors...
So, I doubt this will be my last post about my "crazy neighbors" to the right of my 'super-adorable' earth-tone home. ;-)
Please forgive me for being so mean, but I am starting to wonder why the people who lived in my house prior to me (with their pregnant offspring) moved???...
This is a long story so I'll just start out with the cast of characters:
- The Mom- a very odd woman who has been tanning, smoking and drinking all her life. Extremely paranoid, maybe a medium to highly mental and just rude~ a bit Cruella De Vile-ish!!
- The Dad - a portly man that flashes his 'badge' when he comes over, stays in his truck when gets home from work and listens to the radio - I am guessing he does this to prolong his sanity before he walks into his household. He is some sort of Government worker but not a policeman.
- The Daughter - A cold, unattractive and scary woman. She has to be in her 40's and her only 'chore' that I can see her do is putting out the trash and recycle bins out every Tuesday night and then collecting the same receptacles once empty. I don't think she has a 'job' since her car is always in the driveway and the fact that she steals my brand new garbage can! (This is what started the "war")!
- The Son - He is also probably in his 40's. His chores include mowing the grass and installing the"Super Secret Security System" camera with an obnoxious RED blinking light that flashes every 2 seconds!! I just noticed this camera today - hence the whole blog. But, I feel violated going to the central mailbox. Is the camera following me from my house to the mailbox and vice-versa???? Am I going to have to start dressing up to go get my mail??
The son, works in water purification - oddly enough the same company that the neighbor next to them works for...hmmm...(Did he have an in-? Or the neighbor on the other side, felt sorry for him/them and offered him a job??)
- The Granddaughter - The daughter's daughter. Maybe 4 yrs old. A kinda cute kid but doesn't seem to be allowed out of the house/compound but to check the mail and play when the mother puts out a huge GREEN neon man with an orange flag that says ' WATCH FOR CHILDREN or SLOW DOWN!' Ummm - my mom didn't do that for me! LOL!
- The Grandson - The son's son. Appears he it there 'every Thursday and every other weekend" or something like that.
- The Girlfriend - The son's girlfriend. Bright Red hair - works at Cost Clippers and is a security guard somewhere. She has a very easy car to remember. It's a white little car - with 2 HUGE thick blue racing stripes from the hood to the trunk. So easy to remember, that I see the SAME car & sometimes his truck in the apartment complex across the street.
- The Dog - The daughter's dog - A German Shepard. He likes to bark at me from his backyard while I'm working in my front yard.
- The House/Compound- MAYBE 1,850 sq feet for 5-6 people and a large dog!!! YIKES!
- The Vehicles - TWO 4-door sedans in the drive. TWO white trucks and ONE medium powder blue tank in the street. (Not to mention the racing white car with blue stripes that appears on weekends and a few nights a week) = 5 -6 vehicles total!!!

Domestic Goddess~
I just got back from dinner with my friend Suzanne and her family. Her parents are in town from St. Louis. Well in my mother's efforts to make me more 'domestic' she has decided to send me a care package.
My care package consists of: a sweet Easter gift of the DVD - West Side Story and a really cute picture frame, 6 jars of Tony's Marinara Sauce (my favorite) and a sewing machine! Yes, you read that right - a sewing machine. Whatever will I sew?? Will I even attempt to thread the machine and try it out? I'm scared of it!
Let me know if anyone knows how to use one of these contraptions?
Guilty Pleasures~
So I have a DVR (it's an evil device) and I record EVERYTHING!
Oprah, The Bachelor, Big Brother, Dancing with the Stars, and too many more to list. But, my favorite show right now is "Rock of Love with Bret Michaels II"! Bret is looking for the love of his life. Ahhh... Who will he choose? Will it be Amber, Destiney, Daisy, Megan or Jessica?? I'm pulling for Amber. I can't wait until Saturday morning for the next episode.

I don't know how to do this...
Hi! I'm Toni! I'm new to the blog thing. But, I can do this! My other friends do it.
I'm kinda funny and this will help improve my communication. As far as adding pictures/videos - I'm not sure I can add those.
This will be fun!
